Recently, this word "single" seems to be following me everywhere. My closest friends have started to date and have boyfriends, but when it comes to the world of dating, I am clueless. I have always wondered why God allows certain people to have relationships and others to not. Thankfully, my pastor taught on the topic of singleness a few weeks ago, and I would like to share some of my key takeaways...
Sometimes life gives you gifts that you do not want, but you need to use. If God gave you this gift of singleness (or anything else), then He intends for you to use it. God gives some of His children the gift of singleness to elevate His Kingdom in a way that others can't. On the other hand, single people, who love the Lord, teach us about the supremacy and sufficiency of God. They evidently display that God alone satisfies, and we do not need a relationship to complete us. As humans, we constantly are trying to figure out what relationships matter most, but our relationship with God is by far the most important!
"I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that." -1 Corinthians 7:7
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." -James 1:17
